Vanessa and Mike are adorable! I love how they were laughing and joking from the first shot we took. It sure did make the session fly by with ease! They were just giggling and goofing off with eachother the entire time and it made for some great images. Vanessa is one of Gianna's (Chic Celebrations) best friends and I was so honored when she told me she wanted me as her wedding photographer. Of course I jumped all over it! Gianna is amazing and Vanessa and Mike are one of the most fun loving couples. We had such a great time on the cute little main street in Newport and around Newport Bay. Newport Bay is a special spot for them as that is where Mike proposed. It was very sweet to walk along one of their favorite spots and capture them in their natural environment. Love when sessions are personal and intimate. Makes the images so much more special and unique. Can't wait for your big day!

I am so excited to finally share this post with everyone! This was the inspiration shoot for Aldo and mine holiday card and I have to say it is by far my favorite. Joy and Cory were our lovely couple and were so sweet together. Jen of Nunn Better Design styled our gorgeous duo and Gianna of Chic Celebrations worked her magic on bringing everything together. Susie Chhour did make-up and hair and Calligraphy by Katrina did the beautiful cards for the camera labels. I love everything about this love session. The film and lace strips, cute frames and display of cameras. Joy + Cory are so cute and were perfect match for this inspired shoot! Check out our feature on Ruffled!

{krista + aldo | portrait | film + lace + vintage cameras | malibu}

I am so excited to share part 1 of our holiday session featuring film, lace and vintage cameras, all of my favorite things! I know, we are a bit late on this post, lol. This year we decided to display a table of cameras in lieu of sweets! I got the idea from a wall display of cameras and a beautiful sweets table by My Sweet and Saucy. With the help of Gianna of Chic Celebrations, we were able to turn my inspiration into reality. She is so amazing! Aldo and I are currently working on translating it into a wall display for our living room! I can't wait. ;-) Jackie of Susie Chhuor did an amazing job on my hair and make-up and Jen of Nunn-Better Design styled Aldo and I. The beautiful calligraphy was done by Calligraphy Katrina.

Every photographer needs to experience what it feels like to be in front of the camera, and Aldo and I do it every year for our holiday portraits. No matter how experienced you are as a photographer it is always an awkward feeling having your portrait taken. At least that is for Aldo and I, we are not models by any means and enjoy being behind the camera, lol. Asking yourself to do all the fake laughs, poses and silly things we ask our clients to do in order to achieve their amazing images puts things into perspective. I think it makes us better photographers, knowing what it is like on both sides of the camera. In the end I love having our portraits for memories and of course our yearly holiday card. ;-) We hope you enjoy this little snippet into our lives!
