{brittany + brendan | spanish hills country club | wedding}

Brittany and Brendan are so adorable. You may remember them from the vintage 40’s style shoot we did for their engagement session a while back. On July 17, 2010 they were married at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo. Such a beautiful place for a wedding. The flowers were stunning and the colors were so vibrant and elegant. I have to say one of my favorite bouquets thus far (partly because it had my favorite flowers (calla lilies and peonies). Brittany’s Spanish style dress with the lace and flares of fabric was a prefect fit for her. She looked drop dead gorgeous. And her shoes were so cute and flirty, just like Brittany! Brendan didn’t look too bad himself, lol.

I love the added white and pink lanterns for the ceremony they illuminated the entire evening, which made it ever so beautiful. We got to play around with those for some of the evening shots. I love the fact that what Brittany was looking forward to most (besides marrying Brendan of course, well at least I think so, lol) was the night shots. Which was totally awesome since Aldo and I both really enjoy the night shots and usually get limited time allowing for only one maybe two spots. With B+B we got to experience a few different spots, and had enough time to explore!

The highlight of the ceremony was when B+B were saying vows and Brendan (poor guy) said I Brittany take you…. It had the whole crowd rolling in laughs! But that is very much B+B personalities and I wouldn’t put it past him to have done it on purpose, however I think in this case it was just nerves...too cute!

Usually we don’t get to know the families very well at weddings since it is a hectic day and all about the Bride and Groom. However, B+B were a little different. I met both mom’s when they came into book and also had the pleasure of meeting Brittany’s mom a few more times for the engagement photos and review. I also got to know the Brother of the groom pretty well as the poor guy kept getting picked on during photos. If not by his family then by me, but hey that’s what happens when you don’t pay attention, lol. One of my favorite reception photos is the four generations of girls dancing. Not only was grandma cutting up the dance floor, but so was great grandma! They were all so sweet and such a riot. I Loved it!

Aldo and I had a blast at your wedding and getting to know your whole family. We hope you guys enjoyed it as well! Have an awesome time on your honeymoon!

{kristen + matt | inn of the seventh ray | wedding}

Kristen and Matt are a fun loving and energetic couple. Kristen is one of my favorite coordinators who happens to work at Pickwick Gardens, which is how we met. We hit it off right away and out of the many photographers she works with I was honored and thrilled that she selected me. I was so excited and happy because we always have a great time together for her Pickwick weddings.

Kristen looked absolutely amazing in her dress. Actually both dresses, since she decided to change after the formalities so she could get her dance on! While she looked elegant and beautiful in her first dress, she looked stunning and sexy in the second (which was awesome for the night shots). Even her shoes were stunning and dazzled up, but of course you can’t go wrong with Christian Louboutin! All the details were impeccable and her invitation was so unique and eye-catching! Kristen put much thought and effort into all the details and planning, and it sure did pay off! Everything looked spectacular!

I loved that Kristen and Matt were up for anything, even before the wedding day. During the consultation she said, “whatever you need and whatever time you need you will get”. And oh did I! Kristen and Matt decided to see eachother before hand (Kristen won that battle, haha), which allowed for much more time to focus on the images. With no guests to distract and plenty of time before the ceremony we had loads of fun and time with the couple, bridal party and families!

Across the street from Inn of the Seventh Ray, which is where Kristen and Matt had their lovely ceremony and reception, was a little road where we got to play around and photograph. The lighting was just perfect and the rustic backdrop made for some charming and energetic photos!

One of my favorite images is K+M in front of the horses! Partly because while shooting Kristen, she mentioned how she loved horses. So when I saw the horses I thought, what a perfect shot. I am so glad that the horses thought so too and posed so well for us. ;) wink

Kristen’s two girls, (the flower girl and maid of honor) were so adorable and did such a great job. The speech that they gave during the reception with the matron of honor had the whole party in tears (I even got a little chocked up). It was such a sweet moment for the new family!

We had a great time with K+M. I know Kristen particularly enjoyed when Aldo and I demonstrated what we wanted her and Matt to do with the poses, lol. Matt was such a trooper with all the photos, since he really hates having his photo taken, lol. That is true love! Cheers to your new future together!
