{friday photo tip | wedding | engagement | portrait}

If you want picture perfect "snapshots" to hang in your home we recommend hiring a professional! Those “snapshots” that you cherish and pass on for generations are best captured with professional photography. Family portraits don't have to be stiff and posed, the best pictures capture you and your family doing something you all enjoy together! So, the next time you want to get some “snapshots” of your family doing your favorite activity, think about hiring a professional. Or the next time you hire a professional, think about capturing your family's favorite activity.

Love me: CADBURY EGGS!!! I'm obsessed with them this time of year! It's a really good thing they only come out once a year. LOL

Love me not: The service at Starbucks lately! As many of you know I'm a coffee junky, but if Starbucks doesn't get better service I'm going to be getting my coffee fix at Coffee Bean more often!

Location location location! Whether it's planning for your wedding, engagement or taking a family portrait remember location matters! When talking to your photographer find a location that reflects your personality. Remember the location plays a major factor in the overall feeling of the pictures.

{potrait | kat + will | love shoot | vintage}

My inspiration came from old vintage books and a quilt for a sweet love picnic. Knowing that I wanted a picnic involving a quilt, books, flowers and fruit I came across the beautiful blue vases. Most of the props were found at the local Goodwill and flea markets to complete the look. The couple was styled by Jen of Nunn Better Design and the set design was styled by myself.

With a little rustic vintage feel, book, flowers and fruit this little love story came to life. Kat + Will who are adorable and so in love, were so gracious to be part of this inspiration. Being a perfect match for this styled shoot as they are old souls at heart as well as loving the vintage style. I found a beautiful location with open fields, wild grass and the glowing sun to showcase this vintage picnic. After beating out the rain and mud, a beautiful day was in-store for the shoot. However, it was very cold, Kat + Will were brave and powered through the insufferable cold weather while the sun decided to hind behind the clouds. It was, oh, so worth it, as we have some absolutely amazing images with a soft glow from the cloud cover and a stunning cloudy sunset!

Loves me... vintage glass bottles! I know I know my vintage obsession continues but I can't help myself. LOL. I was at the flea market this weekend and I found some amazing vintage glass bottles.

Loves me not... the heat! I'm so glad it's gone. I love it when it's overcast and kind of gloomy!

Props can add so much character to a shoot, from a family session, to engagement, newborns and weddings. I love to play with props and add adorable items to photoshoots. Loving this little girl and her tricycle. So the next time you have your photographs taken talk to your photographer about what props would go with your theme and look.

{styled shoot | wedding | black and white glam}

This amazing shoot was styled by Kristeen LaBrot Events. Read her view behind the inspiration and collaboration from the shoot: "The bride's gown from Winnie Couture was an explosion of soft, billowy tulle. Her black satin Prada shoes were to die for. The necklace and bracelet was from Margaret Rowe, a designer of vintage couture jewelry. Sunny from Susie Chhuor made our bride look timeless with her classic red lips and soft updo. Our black to white gradient ruffle cake, from Superfine Bakery, consisted of towers of frilly fondant. We wanted the table to look romantically deconstructed -- layers upon layers of different textured fabric were used to create the perfect canvas for the swirly candlesticks which lined the table. Enchanted Garden's lush floral arrangements of anemones, ranunculus, roses and hydrangea spilled off the front of the table. The gauzy chair covers from Wildflower Linens accented the sleekness of the Chameleon Chairs. "Bride" and "Groom" were written by Calligraphy Katrina on mirrored charger plates for an extra touch of high glam. The place setting was topped off with gorgeous china, a calligraphed menu and a feathered napkin treatment."

It was such a pleasure collaborating and working with all the wonderfully talented vendors involved. Thank you so much to everyone for producing this beautiful shoot.

{loves me | loves me not}

Love me…ranunculus! I found me a new favorite flower. I still love me peonies, but since they are out of season, I have come across the ranunculus, which is so beautiful, light and airy; and similar to the peonies. As with the peonies, my favorite colors are white and pink. Which is odd because a few years ago I hated pink with a passion, but it has grown on me and worked it’s way into my love list!

Loves me not…hiccups in my schedule or plan. But really who doesn’t. Bring a very type-A personality I am not a fan of change or “hiccups” in my plans, lol. Luckily, over the years I have learned how to work around them and make things work, but still despise when my plan goes off track!

{loves me | loves me not}

Loves me... Whipped Vodka... what more really needs to be said? Combine with Root Beer or Sunkist soda and you are drinking a Root Beer Float or a 50/50 bar! Warning, they are very addicting and go down very easily so brace yourself! lol

Love me not... this is a love hate relationship as I LOVE my new iPhone but HATE that Apple requires you to upgrade! How is it, you can sync the iPhone with ANY operating system on a PC but on a Mac, if your computer is not with the latest and greatest it won't function; requiring more purchases! grrrr..... on Apple upgrades.

{portrait | pregnancy | ditch}

The soon-to-be parents of baby boy Ditch wanted an organic nature feel for their maternity session. So we photographed this sweet and adorable maternity session in an open field with lots of hills, grass and sky. Even though the sun decided not to shine and it rained the last few minutes of our session, these soon-to-be parents had a glow to them. Very excited about their expecting baby boy, they brought some adorable baby cloths, they received from their baby shower and we hung them on a clothing line for an added personal touch for baby Ditch. I think my favorite is the cute onesie that says “I will make a difference”. In addition to our adorable clothing line we added a charming bunting sign that says “Tiny Precious New”! How cute is that! One of my favorite new items, along with the cute framed belly. How lovely is mom-to-be with her perfect round belly! Love this session with all the cute personal touches and props! Can’t wait for baby Ditch to arrive!
